/A British term we thank Argentina for invading the Falklands?
Before starting to bite the head to read the question lol In 1982 John Knox Secretary of Defense Torie was about to kill the Marine, but also deal a blow to the army and the RAF with cuts, took the Falklands to wake up politicians to the need to maintain a strong military. I just wish it had not been at the expense of British lives mens services to prove the point, but again my question is I have to thank Argentina for invading the Falklands, to long lol James, and former British nope Argyll and Sutherland Highlander to boot sorry Loretta, I do not understand your point of beauty and diet section is that way ———>
Although it was a very expensive event for us in terms of human life and material Argentina I think we did a great favor, and proved he could still, at that time, successfully fighting a conventional war anywhere in the world without much help anyone else. Regan going to use a database provided us with much needed Sidewinder missiles for the Harriers and also offered us the use of a company that refused course. But it was a very close run thing and the enemy had a strong position to defend themselves, were numbered and most of our aircraft fought very bravely. When we lost the Atlantic Conveyor and all Chinook helicopters and the fuel was a lucky break by an Exocet missile, which could well have been playing, but British forces and their valiant never "give" just went into overdrive and overwhelmed the Argentine positions anyway with some very bold attacks and maneuvers. A true courageous battle on both sides I think and a credit to Britain and Argentina. Everyone from the cook civvi the Admiral of the Fleet, from the supplier and engineer civvi back home to the lowly squadie in the field that are made of 100%. Britain found a new common ground patriotic, and most back home everybody seemed gel and support our troops. The prime minister, of course, before Argentina's invasion was not at all popular, and might not have been reelected, but this action really sure that the PM is elected as history showed. Personally, serving in the RAF, at the time of the invasion was on leave of RAFG Gutersloh, never got the withdrawal and I was gutted when I and my boss said "we do not want any volunteers over this section," 63 Rock squad monkeys were all about to leave and got lost. But they told me to prepare a Land Rover, and my toolbox is left in the back of it, and I have understood that the Land Rover was sent to the Atlantic Conveyor as many of our cars were. So my tool box was my only loss – and loss mod anyway. If we lost the battle of Las Malvinas, things would have been very different to Britain and I think we would have lost all credibility in politics, in the battlefield and our self-esteem in general throughout the world. Congratulations to all, including our enemy, who took part, no matter how humble his part was, I welcome ………
