symbols are only sharpening tools. If you insist on getting one as a tattoo, I use the symbol of the rune called "elliza. As have many charms to see my first statement. Amulets and talismans are nice but really unnecessary. You can always buy a consecration of his wand then own energy and such. Like the amulets and other items that are only tools, you are in power. If you want a good set of beginners get books by Scott Cunningham. It gets to land in a language easy to understand. Not sure about the elves though the Cross.
