/Any good advice to restore the vinyl roof on a Cadillac Seville?
I have a 89 Cadillac Seville with a white vinyl roof. The vinyl cracks, it has a cry of some small, and the white stain is out or lost in several places. I bought (based on Yahoo answer an earlier question I posted) vinyl repair kits, vinyl cleaning solution, and something called SEM coat color, a vinyl paint or dye (not sure which). Before you dig and do this, does anyone have any advice on this project, which should be attentive to and be aware of, so do not wreck this thing? I've never done anything like this before, so any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
Personally, I just replaced. Any good body repair shop or place of reupholstery car should be able to do so. It will not be cheap, but you will be happier in the long term. I'm going to put the white vinyl top replaced on my 77 Mustang, so I know what is happening. If you decide you prefer to DIY, then just follow the instructions provided on packaging materials you have purchased. Try on a little less obvious part of the top, if that's possible. Just take your time, and get on with what they say the instructions, and you should be fine.
